School Snaps: Oasis International School Seniors Explore the Art of Ikigai

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Oasis International School understands that diversity challenges our assumptions and adds beauty to the world. Students learn to respect the unique qualities of others, they are encouraged to step outside of their safe havens, thoughtfully critique their own biases, and understand a more complete picture of truth.

Ikigai is the Japanese concept meaning “a reason for being”. This was the focus of the most recent unit in the Senior Seminar class. The seniors explored their personality types, intelligence types, and passions. Each had the opportunity to teach or demonstrate their passions to their classmates.

The seniors presented on everything from Sudoku to photography to Webtoons and learned a lot about themselves and each other.
