Heineken’s latest lifestyle campaign brought together Grammy Award-winning duo The Chainsmokers and local artists to showcase music’s versatility.

Heineken® recently kicked off its ‘Refresh Your Music, Refresh Your Nights’ campaign in Asia with two concerts featuring the world-famous electropop duo, The Chainsmokers. Four local and regional artists – namely Yunohoo and NYK from Malaysia, and Thu Minh and Karik from Vietnam – performed alongside The Chainsmokers.

The Chainsmokers gave their fans a night to remember with an electrifying performance at Resorts World Genting.

Both concerts were major successes, with some 5,000 music fans at the Malaysian concert, where they displayed immense support for both The Chainsmokers and the local artists’ performances.

Prior to the concerts, Heineken encouraged fans to break out of their music bubbles, seeking to open their minds to different genres through sharing music from many cultures. In the lead-up to the concerts, fans were encouraged to vote for their favourite refreshed renditions of The Chainsmokers hit songs, created by the local artists. These renditions were well-received by fans, showcasing a lot of enthusiasm for their favourite local artists.

In Malaysia, the concert was held on December 9 at Resorts World Genting, and Yunohoo kicked off the performance with her own songs like ‘Kaalam,’ ‘AV,’ and ‘Rani,’ then rounding off her performance with her rendition of The Chainsmokers’ hit song ‘Don’t Let Me Down,’ in her own distinctive musical style.

This was followed by NYK’s performance starting with his popular songs such as ‘Daylight,’ ‘Faded,’ and ‘Pretty Burn’, before launching into his rendition of The Chainsmokers’ song, ‘Something Just Like This,’ showcasing his take on duo’s hit song. NYK’s performance was followed by the headliners of the concert, The Chainsmokers, who performed many of their hit songs to rousing cheers from music fans.

“Through the ‘Refresh Your Music, Refresh Your Nights’ campaign, we wanted to echo Heineken’s belief that life tastes better with an open mind, regardless of social situations or music preferences. The fans’ incredible energy and willingness to break out of their music bubbles affirmed our belief that music does transcend all boundaries,” says Rajeev Sathyesh, Heineken Brand Director (APAC).

Apart from Yunohoo and NYK, the concert also featured other spirited performances by local DJs Blink, BATE, and Julian.

The Chainsmokers (Alexander Pall and Andrew Taggart) arrive in Malaysia to open Malaysian music fans up to new experiences through music.

“The evening with The Chainsmokers and our local artists was something never seen before and definitely one for the books. The response we received from Malaysians during the voting phase and at the concert is proof that we are all ready to expand our horizons musically, cultivate new relationships, and create new memories worthy of a lifetime,” said Willemijn Sneep, Marketing Director of Heineken Malaysia Berhad.

Some 5,000 music fans gathered at Resorts World Genting to catch The Chainsmokers live alongside local and regional artists who performed with the international electronic pop duo.
