Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Returns to Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur’s champion will represent the city in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Grand Finals

The 8th Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup, renowned as the world’s most prominent corporate golf tournament, made a grand return to Kuala Lumpur on May 11, 2024. Hosted at the prestigious Kuala Lumpur Golf & Country Club, the event gathered local high-profile figures and key business community members.

Launched in 2013, the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup has grown significantly, now featuring over 8,000 players competing in more than 117 tournaments across 73 countries. The Kuala Lumpur event was the 11th of 118 tournaments this year, with winners advancing to the Grand Finals in Türkiye. The Grand Finals offer the victors a chance to stay and play at the Gloria Serenity Resort & Gloria Golf Club on the Turkish Golf Coast.

In Kuala Lumpur, Dhiren Kanesh emerged as the champion with 17 points, while Low Boon Tung secured the runner-up position, and Daivinn Kuna took third place. The Closest to the Pin competition saw Zakaria Amir winning for the men and Jennifer Lim for the women. Gavin Fung achieved the lowest gross score with a level par.

Mustafa Kemal Kizilay, Turkish Airlines General Manager in Kuala Lumpur, expressed gratitude to the participants, saying, “We warmly thank all of our guests who made the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup here in Kuala Lumpur a huge success. Once again, it was a thrilling tournament in the TAWGC series, congratulations to our winner, Dhiren Kanesh. We wish him the best of luck in Türkiye.”
