A soon-to-be released Malaysian 3D film features the voices of Russell Peters, Tim Curry and Sean Astin.

Tim Curry is an English actor, singer, composer and voice actor, and is well known for his portrayal of Dr. Frank-N-Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He was also in Amadeus, A Christmas Carol and Peter Pan and the Pirates.

Sean Astin first acted in The Goonies in 1985, but it was his role in the Lord of the Rings trilogy (he played Samwise Gamgee) that made him famous.

Russell Peters is a popular Canadian comedian and actor. He has had small roles in a number of movies such as New year’s Eve, My Baby’s Daddy, Girl in Progress and more.

Titled Ribbit, the movie was in the making for five years and involves Malaysia’s KRU Studio and Mumbai-based Crest Animation Studio Ltd. The movie was made in Malaysia, the U.S., India, Germany and Hong Kong.

KRU Studios is a media and entertainment company in Malaysia. The three main people behind the company are brothers Norman Abdul Halim, Yusry Abdul Halim and Edry Abdul Halim. The three were previously known as a popular Malaysian pop group, KRU, famous for singing in English and the local language.

Ribbit, according to executive producer Norman Abdul Halim, is the story of a frog with an identity crisis. This frog, unlike most frogs, does not like water and hopping about. In fact, he thinks he is a human prince trapped in a frog’s body. The frog then goes on a soul searching journey with his squirrel friend, Sandy.

The movie has captured the attention of 18 buyers in North America and has been picked up for distribution in over 80 countries including the U.K., Germany, Australia, Japan, China and Brazil.

Aside from Ribbit, KRU Studios have five more 3D animation films and three animation TV series in development.
