A rare clouded leopard was caught by the state Wildlife and National Parks Department on Sunday. The leopard was caught in Felda Perasu (a village in Kelantan) following reports of its sightings by settlers.

The male leopard is under threat of extinction, as it is a rare and protected species. Scientifically known as neofelis nebulosa, the leopard is believed to be about four years old. It will be released into the wild in the Kuala Koh national park soon.
