1. Robin Thicke – Blurred Lines ft. T.I., Pharrell

As they always say, “Sex sells”.  This video is proof of that. The original version of the video is much more explicit with a horde of topless models but this video was obviously censored severely for general public viewing. A cleaner version was released later, which quickly became popular.

This song is from Robin Thicke’s sixth studio album titled “Blurred Lines”. This is the first month that this video ranks among the most shared videos. This official, toned down music video of this song was shared more than 3,227,000 in June 2013.

The song made very good use of hashtags by displaying hashtags #thicke and #blurredlines to promote the song, album, video and artists. Even better, the hashtags were actually co-ordinated with the lyrics – appearing when any one of the artists sang the word.

2. Daft Punk – Get Lucky (Official Audio) ft. Pharrell Williams

Pharrell Williams was on fire in June with two of his collaborations featuring at the top of the most shared videos list. This video has been on the most shared list since its release in April of this year. The video was in the same position in May too even though the official video is yet to be released.

French electronic powerhouse, Daft Punk, has had a hell of a comeback with this track featuring Pharrell Williams. This was shared more than 2,335,000 times on various social media platforms, which is only a slight dip in the numbers it saw in May.

3. P!nk – Just Give Me A Reason ft. Nate Ruess

P!ink is dominating the music charts with the songs from her sixth studio album. The music video for “Try” was shared hundreds of thousands of times in January 2013 and the official music video for “Just Give Me A Reason” has been among the most shared videos since April!

4. Naughty Boy – La La La ft. Sam Smith

British artist Naughty Boy (real name: Shahid Khan) stormed the charts with this track called “La La La”, which also features Sam Smith. After having worked with big names in the music industry like Leona Lewis, Tinie Tempah and Emeli Sandé, he released his own debut album called “Hotel Cabana” this year. “La La La” is the second single off the album and it quickly became the fastest selling single this year in the UK.

The video tells the story of an old Bolivian legend about a deaf boy who can resolve any situation by screaming. The video also has references to the Wizard of Oz and has received positive reviews from critics. The official music video was shared more than 2,195,000 times.

5. Passenger – Let Her Go [Official Video]

“Let Her Go” is the breakout track for British folk singer “Passenger”, whose real name is Michael Rosenberg. The track was released in 2012 and slowly gained momentum to the top of the charts in various countries. The song is a part of Passenger’s third album – All the Little Lights.

The video is a snapshot of the all the activities that take place backstage at a Passenger concert, particularly Rosenberg singing and the crowd reactions. This official video of this beautiful song was shared over 2,079,000 times this month on various social media platforms.

6. Justin Timberlake – Mirrors

Justin Timberlake has never had trouble getting his songs on the charts but after a break of six years in the musical industry, people were sceptical that he would be able to release hit singles like he used to. However, the song immediately stormed the charts right after it was released on 11th February, 2013.

The music video was directed by legendary director and photographer Floria Sigismondi and has received rave reviews from critics. This could explain the success of the music video as it was shared more than 1,243,000 times this month itself and has been one of the most shared videos since April, 2013.

7. Miley Cyrus – We Can’t Stop

“We Can’t Stop” was released on 3rd June, 2013 and the music video has already become one of the most shared ones in June. Although she has a huge fan base from her Hannah Montana days, she is trying hard to shed her good girl image.

In this video, she debuts her punk look and overly sexualized image. The music video is very similar to those by Rihanna and even the song sounds something like Rihanna would sing. In its first month, the music video was shared over 1,173,000 times.

8. Calvin Harris – I Need Your Love ft. Ellie Goulding

Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris are successful artists in their own rights, and this collaboration has also proved to be very popular. Goulding and Harris portray a couple in this music video, and the video follows their lives and relationship. Last month the video ranked 9th on our list, and this month it has moved up a spot with 1,090,000 shares in June 2013.

9. Macklemore & Ryan Lewis – Thrift Shop Feat. Wanz (Official Video)

This music video refuses to leave the most shared charts and has been on the list since January this year. This video jumped a few spots last month to become the 4th most shared video in May. It has dropped a few spots this month to land in the 9th place but still managed to gather 1,070,000 shares. Even though Macklemore has released more hit singles following “Thrift Shop”, this song still seems to be his most popular one.

10. Bruno Mars – When I Was Your Man [Official Video]

Bruno Mars’ ballad “When I Was Your Man” seems to be slipping off our most shared charts. Although it has been in the list since April 2013 and moved up one spot in May 2013; it has dropped to last place this month. This song was shared about 1,023,000 times in June 2013.
