InvestKL was set up to help market Greater KL as a place for major multinationals to set up regional business centres or talent hubs. They not only market the attractions, but also provide a lot of assistance to companies which decide to set up operations here including helping obtain any required licences or other approvals. They have been widely praised for their efficiency and quality of their support.
InvestKL’s target is to attract 100 major multinationals to set up operations here by 2020. They are primarily targeting major companies appearing on the Fortune 500 or Forbes 2000 listings. After four years, they have attracted over 40 companies, with committed investments of US$3 billion, which makes them a little ahead of target. They are confident that can reach their goal by 2020 and possibly exceed it.
