Residents in Terengganu will soon be able to enjoy high-speed broadband (HSBB) service by UniFi, as early as August this year.
According to Telekom Malaysia ™ Terengganu general manager Hamidun Ismail, the service will be introduced to three residential areas in two districts as part of a pilot project. It will then gradually expand the rollout.
The three residential areas selected are; Simpang Empat, Kemasik, and Lot 144 Housing Area in Bandar Chukai, in the Kemaman district and Taman Adis Indah, Kuala Ibai, in the Kuala Terengganu district.
“We will be providing a total of 9,640 UniFi line services to customers around the two districts until June next year, before continuing the third phase into areas that have potential customers.
“For the purpose of UniFi (services), we have installed four exchanges, namely in Kemasik, Chukai, Hiliran, and Cendering in Kuala Terengganu. Overall, the service is still limited, and not everyone will get broadband coverage.”
