Update (19 October 2015): The iPhone 6s was released in Malaysia on 16 October.

Apple’s highly anticipated iPhone event that took place on 9 September revealed a list of new iPads, Apple Watches and more.

As anticipated, Apple also announced the release of the new iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, which will be available later on this month (not in Malaysia!) for pre-orders on Apple’s website.

The new iPhones will have a 12 megapixel camera and 5 megapixels in the front-facing camera. The biggest difference will be the introduction of the 3D Touch, which is similar to the Force Touch on the Apple Watch. The Force Touch senses the level of force one exerts on a touch-pad or display surface, and responds accordingly.

Fans in Malaysia will be eagerly awaiting for news of the arrival of the new iPhones in Malaysia. Below are some estimates on Apple’s Malaysian release dates, which we’ve based on historical release dates between the United States and Malaysia, to help predict when the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will release in Malaysia.

iPhone 3G

• USA iPhone 3G Release Date: 11 July 2008
• Malaysia iPhone 3G Release Date: 20 March 2009

iPhone 3G was released in Malaysia approximately 9 months after the States.

iPhone 3GS

• USA iPhone 3GS Release Date: 19 June 2009
• Malaysia iPhone 3GS Release Date: 31 July 2009

iPhone 3GS was released in Malaysia approximately 5 weeks after the USA.  

iPhone 4

• USA iPhone 4 Release Date: 24 June 2010
• Malaysia iPhone 4 Release Date: 26 September 2010

iPhone 4 was released in Malaysia approximately 3 months after the USA.

iPhone 4S

• USA iPhone 4S Release Date: 14 October 2011
• Malaysia iPhone 4S Release Date: 16 December 2011

iPhone 4S was released in Malaysia about 2 months after the USA.

iPhone 5

• USA iPhone 5 Release Date: 21 September 2012
• Malaysia iPhone 5 Release Date: 14 December 2012

iPhone 5 was released in Malaysia 3 months after the USA.

iPhone 5S and 5C

• USA iPhone 5S and 5C Release Date: 20 September 2013
• Malaysia iPhone 5S and 5C Release Date: 1 November 2013

iPhone 5S and 5C was released in Malaysia less than 2 months after the USA.

iPhone 6 and 6Plus

• USA iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Release Date: 19 September 2014
• Malaysia iPhone 6 and 6 Plus Release Date: 6 November 2014

iPhone 6S and 6S Plus

Looking at the trends highlighted above, we estimate the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus will be released in Malaysia in November this year.
