This article is brought to you in part by Gamuda Land.
If you’re more than 35 years old, you might remember a TV show called ‘Through the Keyhole‘. If you’re younger than that, you’ll probably know a show called ‘Cribs‘. Maybe you remember both? In the same style as those TV programmes, we’ll be bringing you an exclusive insight into the some of the most high-end apartment blocks in Kuala Lumpur.
First up: Gamuda Land’s property, Madge Mansions on Jalan Madge, also known as ‘Embassy Row’. Here’s an idea of the style of one of the apartments, complete with a private pool and a view:
Let’s also take a look at some of the highlights of the property:
The arrival court, lined with planting and surrounded with landscaping, leads along a driveway in black basalt to a sheltered porte-cochere.
Past the glass pergolas at the entrance, the waiting lounge is built into a ‘floating pavilion’, surrounded by water features and there is a concierge counter and reception desk.
The 50m infinity-edge salt water swimming pool has a submerged deck with floating deckchairs and a timber boardwalk. Spa facilities include steam baths, plus a sunken jacuzzi and reflective pool. The facility is surrounded by water features and landscaping.
Greenery includes bamboo hedges and hopea Johoreansis as well as vertical planting for natural shade and cross ventilation. The ‘glass lantern’ gymnasium features glass walls on all sides, and the space looks out across the pool. There is a dedicated BBQ area and children’s play corner, as well games and function rooms.
The low-density development features 52 units; so 24 units per acre. A private lift lobby leads to apartments with high ceilings and full-height windows, protected by Louvre panels.
There are both wet and dry kitchens, and a master bathroom which has a cantilevered bath tub. There’s also a free standing shower in the twin sharing shower room.
Some of the apartments come with a private dip pool or private lanai (a veranda, originally from Hawaii). Trees provide screening at cabana level and glazing helps with ventilation and flow of ‘Chi’ (the lifeforce from Chinese / Taoist religion).
Interactive floor plan
This is a (purely illustrative) floor plan of one of the Madge Mansions apartments, complete with interactive elements that show examples of what some of the rooms look like. This is an example of a four-bedroom unit, but the property features a number of accommodation types, including duplexes and some with two suites, ranging from 3,498 sq ft to 8,396 sq ft.
Click on the floor plan to bring it to life and explore the apartment.
