An injured Spinner dolphin, one of the smallest species of dolphins, is now being nursed at the Borneo Marine Research Institute of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS), after it was discovered in Tuaran yesterday.
The rescue effort (to remove the dolphin and bring it to UMS) was carried out by staff from UMS, government agencies, and non-governmental organisations.
The dolphin is said to be more than two metres long and weighs around 70kg. It is an adult dolphin, and said to be around seven years in age.
