International movie star Datuk Jackie Chan will be attending the Asean International Film Festival and Award (AIFFA) 2015 in Sarawak this month.

AIFFA 2015 will be held in Sarawak from April 9 to April 11, and will also have Malaysian-born actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh gracing the event. Yeoh won the first AIFFA Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.

According to Sarawak Tourism and Housing Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg, the award ceremony received recognition from all 10 Asean member countries, and has been officially endorsed by the Asean secretariat, Malaysian government and state government as the film festival for the region.

“AIFFA 2015 will be attended by 150 Asean and international film makers and 200 celebrities from Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Brunei, Myanmar and China,” said the minister.

According to Bernama, AIFFA 2015 will begin with the Biz World Film Seminar and Exhibition at the Sarawak Tourism Complex, followed by Movies in the Rainforest (a 12-hour movie marathon to be screened at the Sarawak Cultural Village) and the AIFFA 2015 Gala Dinner and awards.
