The International Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival is Malaysia’s first and longest-running environmental film festival. In the last eight years, the Festival has reached out to approximately 80,000 Malaysians through its film screenings and programs at selected venues all over the Peninsula. Conceptualized and organized by not-for-profit environmental organization, EcoKnights, the Festival is a platform to facilitate building a nation of ecologically conscious businesses, individuals, and communities through on-ground activities and film screenings focused on critical environmental issues and stories.

This year, The International Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF) showcased 40 pictures from two French photographers who capture the incredible colours of the vegetal and the mineral.

French photographer Christian Senat takes macro pictures of trees (trunks, barks and leaves) from Kuala Lumpur and surrounding, showing the beauty surrounding us that we don’t take time to see. Then Senat uses this material to create pictures that look like modern paintings with an infinite variation of colours and patterns.

Another French photographer, Florent Mamelle, celebrates the beauty of volcanoes which is one of the last frontiers on Earth out of reach of most humans. His pictures are an explosion of colors from Indonesia, Ethiopia, Republic Democratic of Congo, Vanuatu, and Hawaii. This exhibition is an invitation to discover a wild, fascinating and pristine world. Both artists present our world in a very graphic way. Their pictures will definitely surprise you.
