The Westin Kuala Lumpur and Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur are partnering this October to promote breast cancer awareness, early detection, and access to screening through a programme of health education, complimentary screenings, and reciprocal offers.
The Westin Kuala Lumpur and Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur are joining forces this October to mark Pink October with a community-focused initiative aimed at raising awareness of breast cancer and encouraging the importance of early detection.
Launched with the support of the Breast Cancer Welfare Association of Malaysia (BCWA) and Cancer Research Malaysia, the collaboration brings together hospitality, healthcare, and cancer-support organizations for a month of activities designed to encourage greater awareness and access to screening. BCWA also conducted breast screenings for The Westin’s employees and guests as part of the launch.

AWARENESS, SCREENING, AND SHARED EXPERIENCES
The centrepiece of the October programme will be a public Breast Cancer Awareness Health Talk at The Westin Kuala Lumpur on October 17. Specialists in breast surgery, radiology, and oncology from Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur will discuss breast health, early detection, screening, and treatment, while a breast cancer survivor will share her personal experience.
Complimentary breast screenings conducted by Gleneagles healthcare professionals will also be available to participants. Members of the public are encouraged to attend the health talk and take advantage of the screening opportunity.
The initiative also includes a reciprocal programme designed to encourage community participation throughout October.
Guests who enjoy The Westin Kuala Lumpur’s specially curated Afternoon Tea during the month will receive an RM50 voucher that can be used towards Gleneagles Hospital Kuala Lumpur’s “Ultrasound Breast and 3D Mammogram” package under its Pink October Breast Screening promotion.
In return, patients who undergo breast screening at Gleneagles during the campaign period will receive a 35% savings voucher for the Afternoon Tea set at The Westin Kuala Lumpur.

While breast cancer is predominantly associated with women, the campaign also highlights the fact that men can develop breast cancer. The partners say education, awareness, and access to screening are important in encouraging earlier detection and preventive healthcare, which can contribute to better treatment outcomes.
The collaboration reflects a broader effort by both organizations to support community health and wellbeing, while making breast cancer information and screening opportunities more accessible.
The Breast Cancer Awareness Health Talk and screening session will take place at The Westin Kuala Lumpur on October 17, 2026. Registration and further information are available via the campaign QR code (below) or by contacting 03-4141 3000.
