New Free Bus Service for KL People

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Malaysian Government’s initiative to provide a free city bus service in Kuala Lumpur to those who use public transport is a huge cry of relief for many city dwellers, the Star reports.

The new bus, GO-KL City Bus, will help in reducing traffic congestions within the city centre as well as reduce the cost of transport for those working in the Kuala Lumpur city centre.

The GO-KL City Bus service will start as early as 6am, and will end at 11pm. It has two lines; Purple and Green, both of which are currently operating in the city centre. The Purple line starts from Jalan Sultan Muhammad (at Central Market), to Jalan Bukit Bintang. The Green line will cover the area from Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre to Jalan Bukit Bintang.

Each bus has a limit of 60 passengers at a time. The GO-KL City Bus service was launched in conjunction with Malaysia’s 55th Merdeka celebrations.
