The Kelantan state government has declared October 21st a state holiday in Kelantan, in conjunction with the Malaysian Cup final between Kelantan and Armed Forces on Saturday, October 20th, to be held at the Shah Alam Stadium.

This decision was made by Chief Minister Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, with the consent of the state government.

According to State Human Development, Youth, Sports and NGOs committee chairman Datuk Abdul Fattah Mahmood, the public holiday is a good thing as fans coming from Kelantan to watch the match will not have to rush back, and more supporters from Kelantan can make their way to Kuala Lumpur to catch the match.

If the Kelantan team makes it to the finals, they may receive some incentives, but will definitely receive additional incentives and a cash bonus if the team wins the Malaysian Cup.

The New Straits Times reports that the Kelantan team have already been assured of RM200,000 for beating Selangor in the semifinal on Friday. The east coast side has already won the Super League and FA Cup in Malaysia this season.
