Residents in Bangsar Protest Construction of New Condominium

Residents from Bukit Bandaraya in Bangsar have voiced out their concern over a proposal to build a 14-storey “twin towers” condominium, on an unstable slope. The residents have sent in an appeal to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), pleading with them to not approve the construction on the basis that the construction of the condominium could pose a danger to lives and property.

According to Bernama.com, a fellow resident commented that the particular slope had failed on two occasions in 2010 after a heavy downpour. The unstable slope along Jalan Kapas had caused cracks in a three-storey bungalow standing on it, as well as causing cracks in the columns and floor tiles in one of the two houses owned by a fellow resident along Jalan Medang Tanduk.
