Take Top American University Courses Online for Free in Malaysia

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

There seems to be an education revolution occurring, which is taking place online one website at a time.

Determined entrepeneurs are knocking down the traditional rod iron gates of education and building new, welcoming golden arches.   There are now many quality, interactive online video courses to learn all sorts of things: coding, design, ever-day-life how-to-guides, business fundamentals, and academics.

One interesting online education tool in particular that relates to academia is Coursera.  Coursera has a robust library of interactive online videos taught by professors from some of the best univerisities in America.

Attending one of these American universities can cost easily over RM 150,000 per year!  And when you factor in traveling to and from Malaysia, costs easily become excessive.

Guess how much it will cost you to take one of these courses on Coursera?  Nothing.

The education model is evolving.  For so many years, only a tiny portion of the population have been able to access this type of world-class education.  So many barriers restricted people: finances, networks, academics, geography, and more.  Now, to access some of these elite classes, your only barriers are a computer and broadband internet connection – two things that are becoming respectively cheaper and more widespread.

Coursera has over 30 participating universities, offers over 200 courses, and covers dozens of disciplines.

Some top American university courses on Coursera include:

  • Brown University
  • Columbia University
  • Duke University
  • Johns Hopkins University
  • Princeton University
  • Stanford University
  • University of Pennsylvannia
  • University of Washton
Coursera Courses are grouped in categories, including:
  • Biology & Life Sciences
  • Business and Management
  • Computer Science: Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Vision
  • Computer Science: Programming and Software Engineering
  • Computer Science: Systems, Security, and Networking
  • Computer Science: Theory
  • Economics and Finance
  • Education
  • Electrical and Materials Engineering
  • Food and Nutrition

  • Humanities
  • Information, Technology, and Law
  • Mathematics
  • Medicine
  • Music, Film, and Audio Engineering
  • Physical and Earth Sciences
  • Social Sciences

With so many choices, you’re bound to find something to quench your thirst for knowledge.  And, again, it’s FREE.

See for yourself and try out Coursera.

By the way, another academic online platform I recommend is Khan Academy.  This is not by a formal academic institution but offers some very educational courses on a breadth of subjects.
