Over 23,000 job opportunities have been created by the state government from 2008 to 2013. Datuk Tengku Putera Tengku Awang, chairman of the Industry and Trade Committee, has stated that under Pas rule- from 1999-2004, 8,887 jobs were generated: a figure that has been more than doubled by the current government.

Tengku Putera has also stated, in response to a question from Wan Abdul Hakim of BN-Air Putih about the industry sectors and working opportunities at the local Teluk Kalong Industrial Area in Kemaman, that 19 industries offering around 4000 employment opportunities would soon be available there.

The state government has also introduced measures that will ease the transition and remove some of the hassles for investors who are considering setting up businesses in the state of Terrenganu. "The state government will always strive to facilitate all processes for the benefit of the people.” said Tengku Putera “"For example, if the area requested by the investor is not more than 10ha, it will not have to go through many committees and they will be given an investment briefing.”

Although allocated investment areas exceeding 10ha will be processed by exco according to standard procedure, Wan Abdul Hakim has stated that a “one stop center” intended to speed up the process of area investment will be implemented.
