A specially designated Art Tour shuttle has been commissioned in Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the 1Malaysia Contemporary Art Tourism Festival (1MCAT) which will be running from September 30. The bus will cover a route featuring the best art-galleries, shopping mall events, street fairs and other attractions the festival has to offer.  The shuttle, which will run on the hour from 10 to 6, is also scheduled to make stops at 12 selected hotels located in the Heart of KL including Hotel Maya, Renaissance, Mandarin Oriental and Corus .

“The art trade is booming, and Malaysia has not been left behind. This festival will position the country as an art destination,” said Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz, who also expounded upon the merits of employing local and international artistic talents to foster tourism in Malaysia. “1MCAT highlights the best of what the industry has to offer and the festival is also a way to support our local players by giving them the limelight that they truly deserve,”

This year’s 1MCAT will also have a distinct hands-on element to it, with numerous art activities lined up along with several auction events.
