The Expat Wine Dinner at Mediteca Wine & Tapas

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Expat Group’s latest wine dinner saw dozens of expats eager to sample some of Mediteca’s famed dishes. The Mediterranean restaurant has made a name for itself with quality, authentic cuisine, so it was no surprise that this wine dinner was particularly anticipated.

As they arrived, guests were greeted with glasses of white, red, and Cronier sparkling rosé wine, as well as a selection of delicious canapés to nibble on, specially prepared for the event courtesy of Mediteca’s chefs.

Paying particular attention to the wine pairings, the Riff Pinot Grigio was served with the delicious Culatello & Figs starter as well as the Baked Fregola Sarda in Mediterranean seafood – the pasta and the wine were the perfect blend of light and crispy flavours.

A taste of ginger sorbet followed to cleanse the palate, before guests got a taste of one of the mains, wrapped pork tenderloin with mango & tomato chutney and marsala sauce, appropriately paired with the Peter Lehmann Hill & Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. Those who opted for the seared cod fish with chickpeas and fish broth option sampled the lovely Luis Felipe Edwards Pupila Chardonnay.

Despite it being a wine dinner, the dessert was a definite highlight of the night. Mediteca’s soft and fluffy Chocolate & Passion Fruit Gateau ended the night on a sweet note, rounding up yet another successful wine dinner.
