Set in a fictional metropolis called San Fransokyo (a portmanteau inspired by San Francisco and Tokyo), “Big Hero 6” centres on a young prodigy named Hiro Hamada and his self-created synthetic bodyguard Baymax. When the Japanese government wanted a team of state-sanctioned super-heroes at their disposal, a top-secret consortium of politicians and business entities known as the Giri was formed to recruit and train potential superhuman operatives for “Big Hero 6”. Hiro is recruited as a potential operative, but unimpressed with the Silver Samurai, he declines to join the team of inexperienced crime fighters until he finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy San Fransokyo.
