School Snaps: R.E.A.L Schools Joins Global Community for Change in Taiwan

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

R.E.A.L International School (RIS), Cheras Campus recently became one of only two schools in Malaysia to be selected to attend the international ‘Be The Change’ (BTC) conference in Taiwan. This conference is the annual gathering of students, and young change agents who participated in the global ‘Design For Change’ (DFC) movement. Their winning projects earned them a ticket to Taiwan to share their stories and learn from each other.

For the RIS team, which comprised a teacher and four students, their simple yet impactful DFC project called ‘Social Corner’, got the judges’ pick as it was easy to replicate in other schools and provided a fun and safe space for students to mingle, play, relax, and even partake in lessons outside the conventional classroom environment. The R.E.A.L students took about two months to completely transform an underutilised space in their school into the campus’ first ever social corner. Well done!
