Slated to open on 15 September 2012, Legoland Malaysia is already expecting to generate RM100million in revenue, in its first year of operations, reports The Sun Daily.

“We should see operational profit from the first year, but to recover our (full) investments will depend on the long-term development of the park, which usually takes about 15 to 20 years,” General Manager Siegfried Boerst was quoted as saying to the SunBiz.

Legoland Malaysia is the first in Asia, and sixth in the world. The theme park features seven themed areas with more than 40 interactive rides, shows and attractions. There will also be a Legoland Malaysia Water Theme Park and Legoland Hotel, both of which is expected to open in 2013 and 2014 respectively. The cost of the theme park and waterpark is RM720 million, while the hotel cost RM190 million.

Boerst also said that he sees good growth potential in Asia, as he is convinced that Legoland Malaysia can offer a first-class experience to all who visit.

The General Manager also said that there are plans on opening more Legoland in Asia, which will most probably be in South Korea or Japan.
