TEG Mingle: Out of Africa & Kudu Bar

Join us on March 19 at one of Petaling Jaya’s longest-standing dining institutions for an evening of good food, cold drinks, and easy conversation at the ever-reliable Out of Africa and Kudu Bar.

For our upcoming TEG Mingle on Thursday, March 19, we’re heading to Out of Africa and Kudu Bar, a PJ institution that has been serving the community for more than 30 years. Tucked within the PJ Sports Centre near PJ Old Town, this long-running favourite offers something increasingly rare in the Klang Valley – space, comfort, and a setting that encourages you to linger.

Under new ownership but with the same welcoming spirit, Out of Africa remains built on a refreshingly straightforward formula: good food, friendly service, and an atmosphere that works just as well for families as it does for groups of friends or regulars at the bar. It is easy to see why it has endured while so many others have come and gone.

At the heart of the venue is the Kudu Bar, a proper sports bar with live events shown on a big screen and a vibe that just communicates authenticity. The mood is relaxed and unpretentious, and the long-serving team are known for their warmth, efficiency, and genuine hospitality. The Mingle won’t be confined to the bar itself (feel free to spread out), but we bet you’ll find yourself in the comfy bar space at some point!

As always, a free flow of ice-cold Tiger, Heineken, and Guinness beers are on offer for Minglers choosing the beer option, while a curated selection of red and white wines are available for those who prefer wine. A nice spread of light food will also be served for snacking while socializing!

Out of Africa has always been about bringing people together. That makes it the perfect setting for our next TEG Mingle – an evening to connect, catch up, and enjoy one of PJ’s enduring classics.
