Long-Term Car Rental and Leasing

For expatriates staying in Malaysia for several months or years, a car subscription or full-service lease can be easier than purchasing a vehicle. These arrangements normally involve a fixed monthly payment, with insurance, road tax and scheduled maintenance included.

FLUX offers car subscriptions lasting from one to 36 months, with no conventional down payment. Insurance, road tax, maintenance and concierge support are included, and subscribers may be able to change vehicles depending on their plan.

As an indication of pricing, FLUX was listing a Suzuki Fronx at a standard rate of approximately RM2,225 a month and a Haval H6 Hybrid at approximately RM2,700 a month in July 2026. Availability, deposits, mileage packages and minimum subscription periods should be checked carefully.

Other options include GoCar Subscription, Avis private leasing and ORIX long-term leasing. Avis offers private leases of between one and five years, while ORIX generally provides leases of between two and five years. Prices are normally supplied after the company knows the vehicle, contract period and expected mileage.

Long-term users should compare the monthly charge, mileage allowance, early-termination penalty, accident excess and end-of-contract conditions.
