New Website, Mobile App and Tram Route for Tourists by DBKL

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) recently introduced a new tourism website, a mobile app and a new tram route for tourists (and locals).

New Website

Tourists can visit the new website at www.visitkl.gov.my.

The website is a good source of information for tourists in terms of accommodation, food, attractions and transport options. For instance, the website’s events page will provide information on the many events taking place in the city, and have links to over 2,500 other useful sites.

Mobile Application

DBKL also introduced a mobile app, VisitKL, which is compatible on both IOS and Android devices. Some of the features on the mobile app include a directory of information and a location finder using Google Maps.

New Tram Route

Aside from the new website and mobile app, tourists and locals alike will also be able to take advantage of the new tram route which connects the Tun Abdul Razak Heritage Park (nature zone) to Dataran Merdeka (heritage zone).

At the moment, the tram route only accommodates people within the Tun Abdul Razak Heritage Park with stops at 14 attractions. But the new route will include the area around Dataran Merdeka with stops at 9 attractions. This includes the National Textile Museum, the former High Court Building, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Saint Mary’s Cathedral.

The tram ride is priced at RM2 for a full day pass. The trams operate from 9.30am to 11.30 am and 2pm to 4pm on weekdays. On weekends, the tram operates from 9.30am to 4pm. You can purchase tickets for the tram at the KL City Gallery, No.27 Jalan Raja, Dataran Merdeka.
