Launch of Ombak Villa in Langkawi

Langkawi recently welcomed its newest luxury accommodation in the form of Ombak Villa in Langkawi Lagoon Resort. Ombak Villa is a luxurious hotel suite specifically catered for local and foreign tourists who are seeking a more luxurious form of accomadation.

The launch of Ombak Villa, on the 30th of September, was officiated by Malaysia’s former Prime Minister, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad. Also present was Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah Hj Mohd Ali, Tuan Haji Mohd Rawi Andul Hamid, representing Chief Minister of Kedah and Tan Sri Datuk Hj Mustapha Kamal bin Hj Abu Bakar, Chairman of MK Land Holdings Berhad. There were also a number of other VIPs at the event. These included Puan Hjh Felina Tan Sri Mustapha Kamal and ambassadors and high commissioners from Japan, Finland, South Africa, Kuwait, Jordan, Iraq, Ghana, Bangladesh, Morocco, Nigeria, Algeria, Lesotho, Kenya and Yemen. There were also representatives from the state (Kedah) and federal government, Langkawi Development Authority (LADA), Tourism Malaysia and the media.

Developed by Tema Teladan Sdn Bhd, Ombak Villa is a blend of modern contemporary and Malay traditional architectural. The villa has 76 units of ombak suites, 2 honeymoon suites (Seroja) and a unit of premier villa (Villa Seri Kasturi). These luxurious suites are equipped with green building features and also come with a breath taking view of the Andaman Sea.

Upon arrival at the luxurious Ombak Villa, guests will check-in at the brand new elevated reception lobby with high ceiling volume overlooking the Andaman Sea. The restaurant and half Olympic size swimming pool are located by the beach together with an open courtyard, perfect for outdoor private functions. These facilities are connected to the lobby making it centralized for the convenience of its guests. There is also a bistro by the beach if you want to relax and unwind.

The cost of staying at the Ombak Suite a night is RM1,500. The cost of staying at the Seroja suite is RM5,000 a night and the Villa Seri Kasturi costs RM15,000 a night.
