If there is one thing that iPhone lacks when compared to Android phone, it is bigger screen size. But that may not be the case for long, if the latest reports are to be believed. News is that Apple Inc. is busy developing bigger, curved screens for its next models of the iPhone, which are expected to hit the markets sometime during the second half of next year.
Samsung has been enjoying a bigger share of the market for some time now, thanks to its vast array of smartphones that have varied screen sizes and price points. Apple, apparently, is trying to regain its market share by introducing two different models of the iPhone with larger glass displays that are curved at the edges. The dimensions of the new iPhone screens would be 5.5 inches and 4.7 inches, the biggest for Apple phones so far.
Apple is also working on the advanced pressure-sensitive touch screen technology, which can make handwriting and drawing on iPhone screens a better experience. However, this technology is still in its testing phase and may not be ready for the next set of iPhones, which are slated for release sometime in September or October next year.
Apple had recently released two versions of iPhone 5, namely the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. The 5S is targeted at the high-end user market, while the iPhone 5C falls into the budget smartphones category. However, the demand is higher for the more expensive 5S, than it is for the cheaper iPhone 4C, according to an Apple insider.
Now whether or not Apple’s large screen phones will connect with the target users is something we cannot predict. All we can do is wait and see.
