If you’re a regular LRT user, you’d already know about the fiasco two days ago when the entire LRT system went down due to a “glitches in the signalling and communications systems” according to a statement on RapidKL Facebook page, stranding thousands of commuters at various LRT stations around the city. Social media was abuzz with photos of the chaos:
Today, barely two days after these glitches, commuters had to suffer another day of madness. RapidKL announced more delays and technical issues on the Kelana Jaya LRT line today:
This time, one of the trains stopped in transit and passengers were made to walk on the tracks to the nearest station, in the rain.
Now showing: Train to busan 2

Walking on elevated train tracks several metres above the ground in the rain is undeniably dangerous but perhaps the experience will make for an interesting story one day. Once all passengers were off the tracks and the bugs were fixed a few hours later, RapidKL announced that services are back to normal.
Hopefully, RapidKL will fix the problem so that this doesn’t happen again. Hundreds of people were late for work and appointments as a result of this mayhem.
However, some credit should be given to RapidKL since they tried their best to ferry passengers to their destinations. Shuttle busses were provided to pick up stranded passengers and there were regular posts on the RapidKL Facebook and Twitter accounts to update commuters in the situation.

I found the LRT over-crowded on any day this would be a nightmare holiday… 😉
Jumped onto a bus in Seremban once only to be smashed in the back like a sardine. I managed to get off before it departed gave the management a piece of my mind. 😉
This is glaring predicament of low mentality in maintenance amongst transporters / utilities / telecommunications / building maintenance in Malaysia.
Routine maintenance is rare vocabulary in Malaysia industry especially when the organization is lead by non Engineer. It is even worst if the Engineer failed to embrace the maintenance culture after rising to the higher management post.
It is sad that when the Prasarana Chairman said that the cable is maintenance free in the TV3 Buletin Utama interview last evening….
Wow I’m glad I dodged that one and you didn’t have to go anywhere today dear <3 Mostaheel Kaba
<3 thank god
Fire the bosses now
Paul Gardin we were just thinking about it just now. But now I won’t let you do it.
Omg what the fudge
Just now as in just now or just now earlier ??????
Depends whether it’s Malaysian style of French style
