Spike Jonze won his first Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for the movie Her, which he wrote and directed. Her stars Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, and Scarlett Johansson.

The movie takes place in the not too distance future when technology has reached a level of ‘super’ intelligence – essentially artificial intelligence has a consciousness. The film follows Phoenix’s character who develops an intimate relationship with his incredibly powerful operating system, designed to mirror the human mentality and organically grow. This movie made waves for being a technology-themed story telling a romantic tale. You can watch the trailer below.
