On Sunday, it was reported that Indonesian divers have located the black box from AirAsia’s QZ8501 that crashed in the Java Sea almost a fortnight ago. The plane was carrying 162 people aboard.

The black box was located, but there are complications with retrieving it from the seabed. According to reports, it is stuck under debris from the body of the plane. According to a statement by the Indonesian Transport Ministry, navy divers have succeeded in finding the black box flight recorders, but are facing difficulties retrieving it as the recorders were at a depth of 30-32 metres. Divers will attempt to shift the position of the wreckage to try and retrieve the black box.

The tail of the plane was lifted out of the water on Saturday using giant balloons and a crane.
