Kuala Lumpur’s dining scene welcomes a fresh addition on Saturday, October 24, when Antra Mediterranean Grill celebrates its grand opening at The MET Corporate Towers. Set on Level 9, the restaurant pairs its spacious, polished surroundings with a welcoming, contemporary atmosphere, offering a place equally suited to a leisurely meal, an evening with friends, or a more special occasion.
At the heart of Antra is Executive Chef Emir Farid and his culinary team, whose Mediterranean-inspired cooking puts flavour, quality ingredients, and the craft of the grill front and centre. Recent dishes have included house-smoked trout with pickled wasabi on crisp masa tostadas, grilled sea bass, and succulent grilled lamb with pomegranate jus and piquillo peppers. The kitchen also brings a creative touch to vegetables and seasonal ingredients, making the experience about more than simply what comes off the grill.
We’ve already had the opportunity to enjoy a number of dishes from Chef Emir and his team and given the freshness, authenticity, and creative preparation and presentation, we expect Antra to be met with plenty of favour as it takes its place in the KL dining scene.
This Saturday, the restaurant’s grand opening promises a lively introduction to its culinary approach, with an interactive breakdown of dry-aged Wagyu, live food counters, and an atmosphere shaped by music, good company, and plenty of great vibes. A range of outstanding Spanish wines presented by Victor De Jesus of Spanish Cellar will add another dimension to the occasion, bringing the character and diversity of Spain’s wine regions to the table.
Antra’s collaboration with the recent ‘Eat Spain Drink Spain’ festivities also connects the opening with a broader celebration of Spanish food and drink. Organized in Malaysia through Spain’s Economic and Commercial Office, the initiative promotes Spanish gastronomy, wines, and regional specialties through dining experiences, tastings, and special menus. It offers a natural fit for a restaurant whose Mediterranean outlook embraces the pleasures of sharing good food and discovering new flavours.
A lively bossa nova trio will provide the soundtrack from afternoon into evening, complementing Antra’s upscale yet casual setting. The result should be an occasion that feels celebratory without being at all formal, whether guests arrive for a full meal or simply to casually enjoy the food, wine, and atmosphere of what’s sure to be a hot new dining destination.
